In Six Months, Malaysia Captured 20 Indonesian Fisherman

Peoples Coalition for Justice Fisheries (Kiara) wrote, from April until September 2010, at least 20 Indonesian fishermen who were arrested Malaysian government.

According to Kiara, modus cliche arrested on charges that they entered the territorial waters of Malaysia. In fact, these fishermen were still catching fish in Indonesian territory that has been done by generations.

"From April until September 2010, Kiara received reports there were at least 20 fishermen who were arrested our Malaysian government. Surely more actual data that must be investigated further," said Secretary-General Riza Damanik Kiara when contacted okezone, Tuesday (07/09/2010 ).

Riza explains, the fishermen who caught it was accused of entering Malaysian waters, but they sure it was still Indonesian territory. "They catch fish in the area crowded and noisy-hereditary, but there are also captured Malaysia. Those who could escape this report to us," said Riza.

Furthermore, he explained, legal protection of Malaysian fishermen who were arrested are still weak. This was attributable to poor performance of institutions involved in the deal, in addition to knowledge of the legal process of the fishermen is minimal.

Therefore, he hoped, the president as head of state and head of government to act firmly to the apparatus that proved to be negligent related to the protection of constitutional violations will not recur citizens as guaranteed in the 1945 Constitution Article 28D paragraph 1.
